Woohoo!!! My "Tele" is complete!!!(pics inside)

I've always wanted a "Thinline Telecaster" type guitar.

I recently ordered a tele body, pickguard and neck off Ebay ("cantbeatpete", a great Ebayer). I didn't know if the thing would be really cheap and crappy, but it turned out to be really high quality work.

This was the body of the tele (it's made of ash):

This was the body, neck and pickguard(not assembled):

As soon as I got it, I went to my local music store, and bought some Fender vintage noiseless pickups and all the parts I needed...a $400 value!!!

After spending a couple of hours putting it together... tada!!!

and here:

All in all, it cost me about $700 to put this baby together, and it sounds and plays really sweet!!!

Did you leave the body unfinished or was it already lacquered when you got it? Looks nice!

The Pickups are just Fender Vintage Noiseless Pickups, I have a set of Samarium Cobalt's on the way soon... I just couldn't wait to play it!!!

The body was already lacquered and sealed when I received it, it looks about the right colour in the last pic, with the yellowish wood tone.

Thanks for the compliments, the credit for building the body goes to Peter Klehr.

nice guitar!

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.
