![]() | Getting the paint off of my N.J. Beast Ok, I'm not a very proud owner of this guitar, lol. It's just so goddamn ugly! Anyway, i was thinking about actually changing the shape of it to make it alot more enjoyable. The shape of the guitar now is just really uncomfortable. Whenever i sit down in the proper classical position with this guitar, the upper horn pokes into my sternum! It's like a Gibson Explorer and a Warlock had kids, and it came out retarded, and it happened to be this gutiar! I want to get the paint off of it and actually cut off the pointy edeges and shape them into a much nicer design. Now, about getting the paint off, I'm not able to get a hold of a heat gun, so I was wondering if a paintstripper chemical would work. I am completley serious about doing this, i'm not gonna back down, mainly because I got this guitar for FREE!!! I recently saw a guy wih an S7420 that did this and it gave me an idea. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. I can also get some pics if you want. Keep in mind......I got this for free. |

![]() | for free! how, can i have one?, and what finish is on it, just the standard colour or the trans colours? maybe your best bet would be just to keep sanding till you get to wood. i think you'll find its mahogony so it might look quite nice just like that if its too loud, your too old ![]() |

It's a bit of work and if you remove all the paint, cut the body into a different shape and it sucks ass, then you've wasted a lot of time removing the paint. And as for using chemical strippers, go here: http://projectguitar.com/tut/chem.htm. |

![]() | Well, i have a really nice sanding machine, lol . The finish is just the standard Jet black. Like most B.C. Rich's, lol. I'm not sure if it's actually Mahogany or Nato wood. I'm not sure what year this gutiar is even made!. The only high-end Beast I can find on thier website is the NT. This one has the Floyd, but it's not a neckthrough. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | having tried to do both sanding the finish off, and using a heat gun, i highly recommend the heat gun, it is a far more efficient way of doing it, you're gonna have to sand it anyways, shouldn't do more than needed imo. |
