My new project guitar...Hopefully
Hey guys, I'm hopefully going to do a new project guitar.
![]() Hopefully I can grab this off Michael, the only difference is the bridge, which is like a standard Strat bridge which will be replaced anyway. Well here are my plans... I'll be using Quilt Veneer from universal jems...shown here ![]() This is what I'm hoping it will look like but it will be quilted... ![]() Now here are the prices, of course they're in Australian so all up it'dcost about $330 USD. Strat - $50 Sand paper - $10 Bridge - $35 Tuners - $50-$60 Extras - $5 Pickups - $190 Veneer - $35 Bobben Toppers - $12 Tone/Volume/Tone knobs - $15 $380-$400 all up What do you all think? Oh P.S, what Dimarzio's would you choose for it, I'll onlychange Bridge and Neck, I was thinking YJM's. |

eh, I'm not a strat guy but looks like a fun project, I'd go for YJM's too.

Aren't the YJM's a fair bit lower in ouput than the standard pups? If so you'd be better off changing all 3 (and could probably get them cheaper as a set).

That black blue burst Strat mockup is pretty cool but it is missing a pickguard.

Yeah... No pickguard is going to cause a problem. There's likely to be a large open area underneath. |

if you're going to pump that much time and energy into a guitar project, why not start with a higher quality guitar? $50 for a guitar seems like it might be of a lower quality :p
I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |
