My new project guitar...Hopefully
Hey guys, I'm hopefully going to do a new project guitar.
 Hopefully I can grab this off Michael, the only difference is the bridge, which is like a standard Strat bridge which will be replaced anyway. Well here are my plans... I'll be using Quilt Veneer from universal jems...shown here  This is what I'm hoping it will look like but it will be quilted...  Now here are the prices, of course they're in Australian so all up it'dcost about $330 USD. Strat - $50 Sand paper - $10 Bridge - $35 Tuners - $50-$60 Extras - $5 Pickups - $190 Veneer - $35 Bobben Toppers - $12 Tone/Volume/Tone knobs - $15 $380-$400 all up What do you all think? Oh P.S, what Dimarzio's would you choose for it, I'll onlychange Bridge and Neck, I was thinking YJM's. |

eh, I'm not a strat guy but looks like a fun project, I'd go for YJM's too.

Aren't the YJM's a fair bit lower in ouput than the standard pups? If so you'd be better off changing all 3 (and could probably get them cheaper as a set).

That black blue burst Strat mockup is pretty cool but it is missing a pickguard.

if you're going to pump that much time and energy into a guitar project, why not start with a higher quality guitar? $50 for a guitar seems like it might be of a lower quality :p
