Just bought a Jackson DX10d

I paid 50 bucks for it. When I got it it was covered in stickers and the fretboard was loaded with grime. The input jack was missing the nuts. The volume knob was broken. And there are a few chips in the paint and a nice sized crack from the neck to where the bridge plate on the back goes. As soon as I got it home I took it all apart. I polished the frets and scrubbed the fretboard with lemon oil a couple times. Then I waxed and polished the floyd style bridge. it took me about 2 hours to get all the sticker and sticker grime off of the body. I finally waxed and polished the body and put it all back together with a new set of DR lites. It sounds great and I'm completely satisfied with it. I figured I'd post it and see what other people think of the deal, and just what they think of the model itself.

I think the Jackson looks great, and for 50$ ? Man I'll be all over that guitar in a second

Great Deal !

and By the way.. from what I can tell...your main 7 is not a DX7 but a DR7 (DX7 made in malaysia, DR7 made in Japan)

and please post more pics of your 7 string

Here's some pictures of it.

I tried to look up what kind it was with the serial number, but I got lazy so I just emailed Jackson Guitars about it.

I really like the licensed floyd a lot. I've been thinking about pickups I might wanna put in it. I want some actives, but I'm not sure which I wanna go with. I really like the EMG 707 in my 7-string, and I know it's an 85 basically. I'm thinking about an 81 and 85. I don't really know a lot about pickups, since the 707 is the only after market pickup I've ever had installed. If anybody wants to offer their input on what's best, I'd appreciate it.

Give LACE a try. Heard nothing but good things about their actives.
