lol @ horrible solo (Trivium content)

Trivium w/Rob Flynn- Pull Harder

3:19-3:47 in particular. God, I hate Roadrunner these days.

Plus, they practically ....ing spit on Dime's corpse with that last bit. Thanks a lot, douchebags!

Not to mention that the vocal correction on Robs singing in the first chorus was pretty shamelessly apparent.

Oh god, I hate this song as it is anyway, but I thought I'd give it a listen.......holy hell that autotune is one of the worst examples I've heard ever. Cher would be proud.

That was pretty awful, geez.
The worst part is, that's not the only video which shows some pretty sloppy playing from the guitarists

Heafy's solo was executed okay, a bit Kerry King-ish in its composition... Cory was yeah, a little sloppy... we all have our bad days (most of mine ), but they nailed the two part harmony on the 'Domination' outro, so okay. I know they're all better guitarists than myself. So, I'm going to take the high road and choose not to on them.

That makes me ....ing cry, well, not really. But can't they even play Domination properly, the call him a legend but obviously have never even taken the time to listen to the ....ing song properly or they would know they are playing it wrong. ....

whoa whoa whoa i understand matts shoddy playing as he ain't the best lead player around but coreys solo sounded like utter crap!and he normally plays his stuff pretty much spot on, must of been a bad night for him.
I really liked robb cameos =p, was quite entertaining.

Well... that was terrible stuff from Robb, Corey and Matt. Those solos were so badly executed it was unreal. And the auto-tune on Robb's vocals were so blatant that I nearly laughed. If he can't sing, then why let him do the part?

Also, what is the significance with the Dimebag bit at the end? I don't like Pantera/Damageplan so I don't know.

Well Matt Heafy and Corey Prettyplace (literal english translation for the french Beaulieu)
are an amalgam of all the worst parts of thrash legends such as Metallica, Pantera, and Slayer. Combine a 14-year old's interpretation of Metallica's song structures with Slayer's whammy-bar-............ solos, and Dimebag's TOTALLY SWEET GUITARS, DUDE!!!, and you have the circle jerk that is Trivium.

At least I have the consolation that there is no accounting for taste!

Well Dime wasn't the cleanest player, and he was never all about the kind of super Cooley-esque dedication to practising, he was about rocking out. He never sounded amazin, played the fastest or the cleanest when he was alive so I don't think Trivium are really desecrating his memory or anything. I don't really like Trivium, but it's more Dime to bash it out than to learn it note for note and try and execute it perfectly, since he never did that anyway.

I quite like some of Trivium's songs from Ascendancy and The Crusade. They entertain me and they do some interesting things (despite Heafy's vocals). I really don't care at all for any of the bands you mentioned, and bordering on outright hatred for Metallica. Not to mention I nothing Dimebag and I don't care much for his guitars either.

So yeah, there is no accounting for taste.

Actually Dime could drink for hours before the show and play the songs pretty much note-perfect.

I couldn't find one video where he ....s up onstage. (admittedley youtube didn't become huge until after his death)

Agreed on all points.

I actually thought the song was pretty well executed for the most part, and I thought the Pantera bit at the end was fitting and a descent little tribute.

first off, I like trivium and machine head, and fully understand what night after night of touring can do to your voice, but wow. neither one of them could hit the clean vocals. that was autotune on robbs clean vox? i thought they were just tryin to be like all the rappers who use the weird voice box effects. maybe they started the craze.

as for the whole domination part, i didnt think it was bad, but nothing is ever as good as the original. that goes for anything, movies, games, music. some of you fellas here seem to get riled up a lil to easily sometimes.

Trivium put on an excellent set when I saw them live a few years ago, and that was when I DIDN'T like them. They played 'Walk' and '....ing 'Hostile'.

As for the playing nothing I haven't done playing live while either excited/nervous/drunk. Some people have their off days.

AHHH MOTHERLAND!
