Need help with speaker selection. Diavlo RD50 head

I havent played in a while, finally got finances and family life going smooth. So I bought a nice 6 string I like (Charvel Skatecaster Sk1 emg 81/85) and a tube head I really liked. The Randall Diavlo Rd50.

Before buying the Diavlo, I played the head through a friends marshall 4x12 cab and really liked it, but the Diavlo 1x12 cab sucked. This was his amp and cabs with my guitar. So I didnt buy the diavlo cab. I just got the head. I dont think I need a 4x12 cab.

I want want deep punchy, crunchy sound and I am thinking a 1x12 sealed cab will be enough for me as of right now. I did think about a 2x12 but I am not sure i need it and not sure what speaker is best , I have always bought premade cabs.

So school me , guide me or point me to a good speaker please? Without breaking the bank.

Eventually I am getting another Hellraiser C7

Would suggest going with a 212. Better tone and value IMO.
Slap some large rubber feet on one side and you have a vertical when needed.
That gives you some floor speaker girth and some raised speaker cut, plus it saves your back and makes amp tweaking much more fun.
All while taking up the same floor space as a 112.

Randall's cabs have V30s. Probably the correct choice.

Like trenchlord said i would go with 2x12. Better sound then 1x12 without the size and weight of a 4x12. Cant go wrong with V30's or green backs imo. My buddy has this head and it sounds really good with both speakers.

Greenbacks (I think)

The speaker in the diavlo cab is a Randall design and I am no sure who makes it, its just not very good sound quality. Even his peavey 2x12 cab sounded way better then the diavlo cab.

Yeah for the price It seems a better value $ wise 2 get a 2x12 and ya prob right a better sound quality too.

It is. I have the Diavlo 1x12 V30 for my RD20 - sounds killer.

I've only tried those speakers separately, but seems like it would make a great combo. The wizard would cover for the lacking mids of the 'Thang, which has the meaty lowend. I think the Wizard is slightly more efficient too.

Well, I have been trying to research that. Alot of the Diavlo cabs say custom or special design speakers for diavlo head. I have found a few diavlo cabs that say they have vintage 30's.

So I dont know what the deal is. I guess some have a randall design and some have vintage 30's.

My friends diavlo 1x12 cab has a randall designed speaker

I second this. If you want a deep punchy sound from a 2x12, the GFlex is the cab you want. I have the 4x12 GFlex and it's huge sounding but being front loaded it's also very upfront and present. I played on the 2x12 version first and it seriously rivals most 4x12's I've played through.
