Your favorite speakers? (That AREN'T the V30 or G12T75)

I'm curious what speakers you guys like to use. It seems like everyone is either running V30s or the G12T75s, at least as far as the high gain/metal crowd goes. Everything except my 18w clone is running through V30s. I can ask on TGP and get a long list of answers, but what else does the SSO crowd love?

G12M/G12H variations? Eminence? Weber? Something else? Maybe even EVs...

(I feel like I'm honor bound to have a 4x12 of G12M Greenbacks or Scumbacks at some point...)

Really like old G12M speakers. I have a 4x10 cab with Celestion G10L-35 speakers that I like more than every 4x12 I've ever played with the exception of two early '70s Marshall cabs with G12Ms. Also like the G12-65 speakers with some amps, but I tend to prefer more bite and less low end from a speaker. They work really well with bright Marshalls but don't seem to like modern amps like a Triple Recto.

I actually prefer K-100's over the G12T-75's, but V30's are my favorites

I'm a big fan on the Eminence P50e found in the Fryette Fatbottom and Deliverance cabinets. I've also heard nothing but good thing about the Celestion H100 speakers in Randall cabs

Yep, I was going to come in and post about those Eminences as well. Though, I haven't tried loads of cabs. But I really like the tightness of the FB cab.

I personally love the Swamp Thang and Texas Heat together in a 2x12.

I've really wanted to try the k100's for a bit, I really like the sound of them from some of the stuff I've read and really like some of the cab sims I have with them on my kemper but would prefer to give them a go in a proper cab.

K100's mixed with Century Vintage Neodymium...The fastest low response I've ever heard. Kind of a scoop speaker compared to V30 but well Eqed The Brutz is frightened.
Not Djent but pure Metal

My absolute favorite is the B&C 12PE32

when it comes to blending speakers, i like the Eminence Cannabis Rex and Wizard or the Swamp Thang and Texas Heat.

My Vox really sounds awesome with Greenbacks or Wizards, with an oversized 2x12 connected loaded with B&Cs for when i plug into a 7 string.

I am really gassing for this combo in a 2x12 but I worry it's gonna be too dark.

I tried a wgs retro30 / et65 combo for a while. They are an "updated" v30 and a g1265 clone of celestions.
I hated the retro30 but loved the et65. I now run 2 et65s and am very happy. I love the palm mutes I get from them. They are really nice clean too.

G12K-85 and G12K-100. They're just about the same thing. They are awesome!

Ask enough questions, and you can answer anything.

Im running an X pattern of Legends and Swamp Thangs. Not the average combo, I guess, but smooth and full. If I want bite I get it from the amp, not the speaker.

Like my band! BLu

Yup, the G12K-85/K100 Celestions are killer. Great on their own or mixed with a V30. I also really dig the Splawn Small Blocks.

<--EV of course.

EVM 12L, EVM 15L, EVM 15B

I also like Peavey Scorpions, 10, 12, or 15's. A little dark, but so meaty.

I think my next experiments might be with Eminence delta pro's, or something from WGS. I like dabbling with unconventional gear though.

I really like Celestion G12K-100's. I want one of the Orange PPC412HP cabs.

I also really like the Splawn Small Block's & Big Blocks. Those Splawn cabs are really aggressive.

I like Legend V12's and Governors. Legends seem to work great with any amp. Govs are like an improved V30 to me. Louder, more power handling, cleaner (less of that rattly paper tone).

V30/G12K is a killer combo, greater than the sum of the parts IMO. Swamp/Gov is somewhat similar with a more expansive low end and no speaker breakup.

I have nothing against Celestions but I am really digging the more modern made-in-USA variants that are available these days.

In my current cab, I'm running an X-pattern of Legend 1258s and EVM12Ss. It's pretty ballin'. Other notable favourites from the last few years are a Swamp Thang/Tonker set and WGS Retro 30s (a lot like a V30, but with a slightly different voicing and 75W power handling). I was not impressed with the Texas Heats in my Krankenstein cab, they were really lifeless. I think when your cab can handle 600 watts, it takes more power than a 50 watt head can put out (and more than I want to have to listen to) to get those speaker motors really moving.

When I went digital and started using PC amp sims and IRs, I pretty much always combine K-100 and V30 IR's.
