Installing a locking nut on an Ibanez GRG170DX?

Is it possible to install a locking nut on this?: http://www.stringsite.com/images/IBANEZ_GRG170DX_CA.jpg

Sorry, I know this is a very amateur question, but I have literally no knowledge on nuts :P

It could be done, but it requires routing a shelf at the nut and drilling 2 holes. the strings would still (most likely) go out of tune at the bridge without a locking mechanism there as well, depending on how heavily you use the trem.

"But Lord, during the hardest trials of my life, why was there only one set of footprints?"
"Because," said the Lord, ôSandpeople always ride single-file to hide their numbers."

I can't see the pic but if you can't install a floyd style nut you could always install a Kahler behind the nut lock.

Possible? Yes. Will it actually benefit anything? No.

The only way a locking nut is beneficial is if the bridge is also locking and has fine tuners. It's why you don't see guitars with this kind of bridge and a locking not.

Need help with setting up a trem?
