LTD SC-608b strap button with Dunlop Strap locks

Sorry if this is on the wrong thread, it may be on accessories.

Well the thing is that I just bought this beast, and instantly tried to install my loved and trusty dunlop dual strap locks, but the screw seem to be too big ( that's what she said ) or the hole on the guitar is not deep enough. And I couldn't install them.

I installed stupid dimarzio clip lock, but I don't like it because I feel that the plastic clip on the strap is scratching my baby.

I want Dunlop, si I can use whatever strap I want, something that doesn't scratch the guitar.

Do I have to screw the Dunlop screw with full force until fits?
Or what am I supposed to do?

Drill the hole deeper (but not too deep) with a drill bit that's a little smaller than the screw for the strap locks. Then install them. Easy as pie.

Need help with setting up a trem?
