Axe FX Synth Patch in a mix

This is a patch I got off the fractal forums and tweaked slightly, decided to see how I could make it work to my style and I really like it! It's rad to think that I'd be able to play that live and just loop it and stuff, the synth blocks on the ultra are capable of a lot of other cool sounds as well.

Synthy stuff reminds me of some Holdsworth tones a bit. Nice job.

Anything specific to do? I've been told less gain, will probably tone that down a notch. Did you check out any of my other more recent clips? You might be able to get a better representation from those.

It's actually the same guitar I used for the distortion parts just played on a bass/clean tone and pitch shifted -12 semitones :p
Tone is axe fx SV bass with the tube pre in front, got lepou legion on it for grit and soundtoys decapitator to get it to sit in the mix

yeah man I didn't really plan for it to work as well as it did haha. My music man isn't quite tuned low enough to handle 8 string songs so thats what ive been doing so far.

my god.....everytime I hear someone post a sample of something recorded with an Axe FX, it makes me want one that much more.

Sounds awesome, dude. So you recorded everything (minus the drums obviously) with the Axe Fx? Which version do you have?

the synth is a bit harsh sounding in the high mids and presence, maybe smooth it out a little and fill it out in the low mids?

i love the athmosphere and feel you have going on though, this stuff is amazing!

Will keep that in mind! and thanks dude! this is a little bit different from what I'm normally used to writing so I'm glad it's being received well, I would love to do more stuff like it and maybe bring it into a live setting sooner or later
