Floyd Rose 8 string available 'end of summer'

Check their latest Facebook post,

"Official" Floyd Rose | Facebook

It doesnt say whether it is made in Germany or is the same as the 1000 series used on the Schecter C8 FR though.

The facebook comments are complete with the standard 'z0mg why dont you master 6 strings first no0b!!!11!1!'

They're also finally making a seven string Pro model.

I doubt Broderick didn't have something to do with it.

I dig.

Pitty that I'll probably never get another parallel fretted 8-string. Too hooked on fans.

Maybe throw one in an RG2228 for a project.

About damn time...

Also poor Kahler, now nobody will buy their trems, except people wanted fanned fret trem systems

It's pretty crazy how desperate they are for endorsee's and stuff now. :\

I don't care of they're made out of butter in some guy's basement in Trenton, I'm getting one installed! The sucky thing is that I wasn't planning on buying any more 8s. Maybe I can dust off the old Intrepid and have one put in there.

The coolest thing about this? Kurt is probably drawing up plans with these already.

If CB had something to do with it, it'd be pushed back for about another year

Carvin doesn't put real OFRs on their 7s, I don't see why they'll be quick to adopt them for 8s.

These things better come with a set of high tension springs.

Extreme Syncopation =/= Poly-rhythmic

Five regular springs will be just fine, in fact, depending on the install ou could likely get away with three or four. You're only adding ~20lbs of tension overall.

Yeah, I think I've seen a picture of Tony MacAlpine's or someone's RG2228 with an eight string Edge and it only needed 3 springs, five would probably be ridiculously tight.

The number of springs isn't the only factor. The amount they are stretched is just important.

The funny thing is that Takeuchi, the company that Carvin orders 7-string trems from has made numerous OEM 8-string units for another maker.

I see an Ibanez RG like 8 string Floyd happening for me in the future

If Ibanez won't put one into production, I'll build my own!!!

I'll get excited if they're offered left handed...

Hey, even though its ultra corny and ridiculous, I like watching Finding Bigfoot. At least there is nice scenery. Even Renee is a 7/10 in cottage country.
