Meshuggah - Demiurge w/ Blackmachine F8

Hey guys!

As some of you may know, Misha was so kind(/foolish) to give me the opportunity to get his F8 a while back.
I never got to make a video with it tough.
Partially because I didn't want to show my unworthy ass with a guitar like this, but also because of a broken thumb that has taken forever to heal up, and you know, school and work and stuff ...and battlefield 3.

Anyway, I've had a week off from school now, so I wanted to make the best looking video I could to compliment this beautiful guitar.

Hope you like it!

Lovely job, dude! Also, I love F8's - Doug put some much thought in them and they work so well. Does that one have his usual choice of Haussels?

I'm probably coming to Oslo around August. What do you say we jam then? I'll play your TIL and BM, and you'll watch!

We could do a video together where we play through a song together? Straws Pulled At Random maybe?

Great cover! Can't say enough good things about the guitar either. BTW, I was a level designer on battlefield 3 so thanks for playing it

Say yes, Michael, please say yes! I'd actually love to see that.

Sounds pretty good Although I'd like to hear you repeat it alone without the backing track and just a click for clarity.

awesome cover. I'm curious, what is the advantage of having the pickups slanted like that?

Great to see you back at it! BF3 is like crack isn't it? Draws you right back into its clutches! Great work on the cover and vid!

Its a fan fret guitar (A god damn beautiful one) , so the pickups need to be that way to compensate.

Amazing playing, my favorite song off Koloss and that is drop dead gorgeous guitar, lucky SOB .

Well you certainly get points for most appealing thread title

Great vid, nailed it!
Interesting how far back you are picking, anchored behind the bridge rather than on the pickup area. Is that for tonal reason or just how you best adapted to the angled bridge? I can't imagine it!

What effects are you using for the outro sound?

You beat me to it! I did a test clip for some new pickups with a riff from this song. You also played it much better than me . Awesome vid man!

Definitely. Sometimes I just look at it, like it's art.
All I know is that it has Haussels.

I suck at jamming, but it would be a pleasure watching you jam
Straws pulled at random, or obzen, or the hurts that finds you first

Trust me, you wouldn't want that. Sounds like .... without the song, haha.

5th, I think.

It is! I haven't played in a little while now, so the addiction has faded.
I'm actually afraid of going in to it again because I get so hooked.

I know which..
*takes off glasses*
..strings to pull!

Definitely tonal reason. It's kind of dark and warm sounding, so I had to pick close to the bridge to get a brighter more metallic sound out of it.
If it weren't for people wanting me to make a video with the BM I would have used the TIL for sure.

I don't know if you have the axe-fx, but I used patch number 18 (I think) the one called freewill or something. Modified it a bit though.

My favourite track from the album. You nailed it and I can easily learn the track from watching this (have most of it memorized from watching it once haha, thanks to HD quality :P).

That guitar is breath taking. Congrats on the guitar.

On another note, I broke my pinky on my picking hand a couple months ago, had a cast and was out of commission from full guitar playing for about 2-3 months, it really sucked. Which thumb did you break if you don't mind me asking?

If you have a minute please check out my most recent EP - TANUKI here:

Any form of support is welcomed and appreciated
