Would you buy a magazine version of SevenString.org

I'm working on a GCSE media AO and i have to propose an idea for a magazine. I have seen that there is a massive amount of people who are on SevenString.org, and i think that a magazine, based on the website, with gear and music reviews, interviews, tab music etc would sell really well. So, Would you buy it?

I don't mean to be rude, but...isn't that Guitar World?

If you're going to 'like' my posts, give me some rep instead.

Nah, I'd only read the 2 pages that usually interests me in a magazine and then leave the store... Obviously I'm kidding, but yeah like the guy above me said, there's guitar world and a lot of other magazines already out there. Then again I guess it depends on were you live no?

I won't read it unless it has a large fold out naked pic of the Mod-of-the-week in the center...

And yes... Randy, you're issue is going in mylar right next to Kate Upton...

I don't think the magazine idea would work at all! Simply because this is a forum, a community, where people actively participate in creating content, while a magazine is just static information. Here people ask questions (even tho often redundant and pointless), its still an interaction, a magazine is just one way communication. Plus sevenstring is free, you would have to pay for a magazine, I seriously doubt people would pay for the content of an online forum...

TL DR: No trolling in a magazine.

Well, if the price would be ok(here in Switzerland some magazines are ridiculously over priced), then I would read it for sure!

A magazine dedicated to 7/8/9 string guitars/basses/other ERG instruments isn't the worst idea.

Magazines like Guitar World rarely talk about them. It just seems far fetched.

Then again, I've seen some pretty silly magazines out there.

I'm not 100% sure I would but I do believe that there's definitely room for a new guitar magazine that focuses less on shallow Rolling Stone magazine style journalism and moronic articles like "The 50 greatest Jimmy Page solos ever!" or "The top 100 Metallica songs in the world!" and more on in depth questions about gear and technique instead.
I think the biggest problem with guitar magazines is that they tend to be stuck in the past and they continue to revel in nostalgia and devote covers with huge ten page articles to the same muscians again and again while a new generation of guitarists quietly passes them by so if there was a guitar magazine that avoided doing this I'd be all over it.

"People percieve the rock world as a dichotomy such as 'metal vs alternative' or 'mainstream vs underground' but dichotomies aren't real they're human constructs " - Kim Thayil

"They don't really understand that he was a funny mother@$%ker, he was not some down, dour drug addict. Nobody laughed more than Kurt and we had great times together" - Buzz Osbourne

Would be nice if it had rig rundowns or special lessons from 7 string artists, but mostly everything else is answered or checked out on each sub-forum here, it's a neat idea though!

simply put: it probly wouldnt work

I like my guitar tone like I like my women, perfect rounded bottom end, cut in the mid section, heavy on the top end, and super tight.

Every issue should have Misha testing guitars and Ola testing amps.

(I'm convinced they could make a Les Paul through a Dumble sound the same as a BRJ through a Fortin)

I'm sure you could easily get Alex(Whitechapel), Bulb/Misha(Periphery) and a few other touring artists that use this forum to help make it interesting.
I think it would be a pretty cool idea.

Eh... I don't see the uses for yet another magazine talking about the latest metalcore and djent bands.

Howveer, I would probably buy it since I"m a magazine addict and keep a shelf full of back issues of multiple mags at home. I tear through them for old articles and boredom often. Friends and musicians I record also like going through them.

hell to the yes,if it did indeed cover e.r.g,7,8,9,and was not filled with ads,ie guitar player mag.,and if ss.org guys did contribute to said mag,and a fold out(centerfold style)of guitar of the month(i'm not kidding)and maybe guest writers(members here)and a live section(for us unsigned guys)who's playing where.
