Your Top 5 Death Metal Bands

Hey,

Just wanted to finds some new death metal bands to listen to or one I may have never heard of. Dethcore is excluded from this list sorry can't stand the noise or break downs. Here are my top 5 pretty much standard for Death metal Fans also list your favorite songs. 1 song per band and DJEEEEENT doesn't count either no exception.

1. Death
Lack of comprehension. First death metal song i ever heard

2. Behemoth

Lucifer. Epic name, Epic tone, Epic lyrics. A song that live up to it title

3. Nile
Iskander Dhul Kharnon. The intro speaks for it's self

4. Suffacation
Cataclysmic Purification. The song speaks for it self

5. Cannibal Corpse
Evisceration Plague. It's dissonant musical war on the cerebral cortex

Runners up
Cynic
Celestial Voyage. A master piece and way ahead of it's time

Decapitated
Spheres of madness. Awsome song awsome riffs, Awsome drummer

Cephalic Carnage
Ohrwurm. Have you seen the music video, Plus the song kicks ass

In no order other than the order they came into my head:

Intestine Baalism

Death:

Necrophagist:

Entombed:

Cynic:

I would be tempted to argue that Cynic aren't that "death metal" but they're cool, and besides the OP had them on his list.

They also gain points because the Focus album cover has an insane swirl that I would love to see on an Ibanez.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't have a 7-string any more and I like fat necks and single-coils, come at me.

Cannibal Corpse
Between the Buried and Me
Death
Amon Amarth
Nile

Not sure all those count as death metal, but bands can cover multiple styles, genres are fluid, and the surest sign of the apocalypse is two metal enthusiasts agreeing on the definition of a metal genre.
