Hahaha, good man! I bet you similarly don't have even so much as a nomination for beyonce or lil wayne in your awards ceremony.

I didn't know bands like Gojira and Periphery were popular enough to be nominated. Interesting.

Oh god my sides at the announcement.

I can live with Dystopia winning (Although I think we all rooted for Periphery), but to not only play a generically bad metal cover during the announcement, but play a bad cover of "Master of puppets" has to be the most hilariously infuriating things I've ever seen. Damn, I feel bad for Mustaine for once.

The troll behind this should win the Grammy instead of Megadave!

definitely not. I like music that's a little more guitar oriented :P it's pretty much 12 foot ninja, karnivool, gojira and baroness that get nominated every year

Kiesel VM8 with lithium pickups
Kiesel V8 with lundgren M8s

On a serious note I really wanted either Gojira or Baroness to win. Purple and Magma were great albums. Especially Purple.

Yeah, I guess winning only for the band members sake. I mean awards don't change the fact that an album is great or not great.

True, but sometimes awards attract people that wouldn't normally listen to those bands. I know i've checked out a bunch of bands because they were grammy nominated.

If he'd had proceeded to the mic and said, 'Come on guys, I didn't even write THAT Metallica song!' he would have gone down in history as having the final word on that rivalry.

To bad it seems he's back on the _something?_.

So if a band is nominated for a grammy, you legit would not check them out and/or avoid? That is a LOT of bands you just wrote off, including Mudvayne, King Diamond, Mastodon, Pantera and GWAR, just to name a few.

Yeah - a few years ago and Dave would have gone on a rampage right there and then. So cringey. Really happy for them on the award though.

I know plenty of guys who would look at your list of bands there and classify all as too mainstream.

Plus, GWAR? I mean, I like GWAR, but honestly, it's a bit embarrassing to admit I do.

Some good bands were actually featured for once, like Gojira, Periphery and Baroness and they give it to Megadeth?

Ah well, at least Snarky Puppy won a Grammy, even though I didn't really like Culcha Vulcha as much as We Like It Here or the family dinners, but it's nice that one of the most talented collection of musicians out there are getting recognized.

What about those rainy nights in London?
What about the crippling desert heat?
What about all those times you swore you'd never leave me?

i know it's bull..... Megadeath's album was not good enough this year to win a grammy. especially when compared to Purple or Magma imo.

The more obscure the category, the more likely the nominees are actually good. The jazz categories especially seem to be full of artists and performances nominated by genre experts. Like, Donny Mccaslin's solo on a Maria Schneider Orchestra album rightly got nominated for best solo of the year, and she's anything but well-known, even to casual jazz listeners. It's the pop categories where it is exclusively the most popular bullsh*t. Thus, the grammies aren't entirely useless, just what you see on TV is. The pop categories are the equivalent of the oscars nominating the highest grosses of the year (ie, Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad being nominated).

Seriously funny tho!

I don't really follow music awards much, but am listening to Megadeth as I type this. Nice coincidence.

The NEXT guitar I get will be the end of ALL my GAS ... No, really!
