Very nice work again.
By the time I have money to get an 8 string, your custom shop will be open, so expect business from me ![]() Sorry to ask this again, but what luthier school do you go to? Do they pay for the materials? Do they actually teach you how to do everything? |

i pay for all materials. they teach us the basics, everything after that is kind of a "find out on your own" type thing... like when i learned how to do a neck through, no one here had done it, so i had to figure it out on my own. with this carved top i haven't asked for any help, i've just been figuring it out on my own. sure, i can ask them how to do things, but most of the time i already have a really good idea of how to do it...
and i'm going to roberto-venn school of luthiery... www.roberto-venn.com they have my guitar up on the spring 06 page for the student gallery. |

i don't know, it doesn't look good at all, nor does the truss rod cover... theres a lot of guitars on that page that i personally would be ashamed of if i had built them...
i just got off the phone with dimarzio about exchanging my evo 7 for an x2n-7, and the guy i talked to, dunno who it was, but he was very knowledgeable on these things, asked me what i thought of the x2n-7, and said the reason the x2n-7 doesn't sound identical to the x2n is because they didn't want it to mud up, which is what they thought would happen if they made it sound identical to the x2n... cool to know they put that much thought into making the 7 string versions of their pickups. whoever he was, he was also really nice, was a nice conversation. |
