I like how shape flows nicely yet gives you the clearances you need to actually use thing. Looks like the balance should be pretty good, too.

Oh, and I like the 'stock, and the tunomatic. Just make sure you put some locking tuners on there.

Division - American metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on MySpace, and Soundclick, too.

The way you've carved it is very reminiscent of how Godin carves their tops, and to me, it looks like they're "carved" by a router. I prefer a smoother, more flowing carve. It just looks and feels more natural.

That's an interesting take on some very well trodden ground. The horns didn't come out looking aenemic and unbalanced, which would have been very easy to do when you start removing wood from that area.

Where are you mounting thr strap buttons? It appears that the neck is longer, to accomedate the extra frets. It is like this on my Collen archtop, which makes everything shift to the left.

Wow, that thing looks amazing. I'm looking forward to more pics as this progresses and would be interested in that design when you start doing builds for people other than friends

no?

i don't know what that refers to, but using a belt sander for a carved top isn't unheard of...

well, i'm recommending to him to mount the one on the upper horn on the back side of the horn, he likes it on the end of the horn, but told me he has had issues with them on the end of the horn, so i think we're gonna be doing it on the back of the horn, itd wind up stronger anyways. the other strap button is just going to be in the normal spot in the middle on the bottom end of the guitar... i'm concerned this guitar might be neck heavy, thats one reason i recommended mahogony over alder, the other reason is all the maple in this thing mixed with alder would wind up overly bright, so i wanted to at least attempt to warm up the tone a little... hopefully it works out. i was actually trying to think of a way to add weight to the body, like say i drilled out a hole in the control cavity, and inserted a small lead weight in there or something... but where do i get a solid cylinder of lead or steel from? i wouldn't have a clue on that
