I like how shape flows nicely yet gives you the clearances you need to actually use thing. Looks like the balance should be pretty good, too.
Oh, and I like the 'stock, and the tunomatic. Just make sure you put some locking tuners on there. ![]() |

The way you've carved it is very reminiscent of how Godin carves their tops, and to me, it looks like they're "carved" by a router. I prefer a smoother, more flowing carve. It just looks and feels more natural.

godin probably does carve them with a router, or CNC... i used a belt sander
![]() and the guy is still considering doing a ofr7, so we'll see, that part isn't set in stone just yet. |

That's an interesting take on some very well trodden ground. The horns didn't come out looking aenemic and unbalanced, which would have been very easy to do when you start removing wood from that area.
Where are you mounting thr strap buttons? It appears that the neck is longer, to accomedate the extra frets. It is like this on my Collen archtop, which makes everything shift to the left.

Wow, that thing looks amazing. I'm looking forward to more pics as this progresses and would be interested in that design when you start doing builds for people other than friends

no? i don't know what that refers to, but using a belt sander for a carved top isn't unheard of... Quote:
