What's up with the recent run on 7-strings on ebay?

I've seen 7620s sell for $300-$400 with a case over the last 6 months. Today, two of them sold for over $600. What's driving the price up, any ideas? I wanted to buy one, but I didn't want to pay over $500.

I've been watching too, I've got a craving for a reasonably priced 7 of a different nature...I'm also leaning towards the Ibanez S7420...the problem for me is I'm lost when it comes to their series...S, RG, UV, JEM...confusing for me...I'm used to, Axis, Silo, Luke, SUB1...straightforward...I looked up the user reviews and I couldn't believe the amount of different series numbers for Ibanez guitars.

It's easy:

S/Radius/Sabre - Very rounded, thin strat shape. Usually 22 frets. Like the guitars Satch plays (the JS models).

RG - Their standard superstrat. 24 frets.

JEM - Almost like an RG, but with a handle cutout. Very nice guitars, always 6 string. The Steve Vai signature model, the high-end Ibanez.

UV - Somewhere between a 7-string JEM and a 7-string RG. The high-end Ibanez 7-strings. The Steve Vai signature 7-string, VERY nice guitars

jski7 is a jewel in the rough
I can speak K7 , and 7620 almost fluently :p . Seriously though , I don't surf the auction sites much , but I've noticed retailers charging more for used 7s' . Mostly Ibanez , but some other brands as well . Maybe 'we' , the cats holding court on this site , are finally showing some influence ? That's a cool thought , huh ?
And BTW , the S7420 is hot (sorry , got a Paris Hilton thing lately) . If I could afford it , I'd get one . And then swap the pups !

Yeah, S/Sabre are the same, but I didn't want the guy to get confused if he saw the different names
