If you remember, I had a hard case for my Gibson, but I always carried it in a soft case I bought at Peeler's because the hard case was heavy and I couldn't sling it over my shoulder. Now, I carry both my Ibanez and Gibson in their heavy hard cases since I left my soft case in the US...

But, yeah, it is a good case. I've never seen the UV case up close in person, so I can't compare them (I played a UV before, but I didn't see the case).

I may have brought it to practice once or twice with you there, but yeah... who goes, "Dude! Lookit my sweet... CASE!"

It's not as form-fitting as the newer case, although it looks a tad plusher. The new case also seems more durable, from appearances. Mine is wood, I think, instead of that awesome ABS plastic, which is hard as hell. And that nifty compartment is the bee's knees. The UV1000 compartment sits underneath the neck. Meh.

Eh, it does the job, I gues. My gig bag kicks mucho ass.

The action was jacked into the stratosphere the bridge wasn't paralell to the body, it just plays like ass. I'm very partiucular about how my guitars are setup, and I planned on having this set up to my specs within a couple of months, anyway. But I have yet to ever receive a guitar in such poor playing condition that I had to immediately take that step. And that's without getting into the lame-assed stock pickups.

Truthfully, I am undecided as to whether I'm going go through the bother of having a setup done, or just send it back and wait another month or two to get a Petrucci 7 to go with my 6. I guess I'm just spoiled by Ernie Balls stellar craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
Well you see a guitar arriving from america to ireland wont be set up perfect but mine was pretty damn close! lower the trem angle a lil bit also the action a bit lower and she plays like a dream shes really a great instrumrnt and with a setup. i highly doubt any one of these would be hard to play after being set up,

as far as the pickups go i was actually quite pleasantly surprised to find theyre pretty good for stocjk pups the neck i really like the bridge tho has a small bit of mud and sounds like well you could compare it to a crunchy duncan 7, having an evo in my old Rg370 it sounded alot different im probably just going to put an evo 7 in the bridge and i should be set,

the neck is just indescribeable it is so smooth and easy to play thin and fast, the fretboard was perfectly clean as were the frets clean as ive seen , fretyboard looks darker than my rg370 rosewood though its really nice, as for asthetics the neeck looks awesome the new 5 piece is great

Edge-pro 7 has given me no problems after franctic whammying its set up real nice and just feels great

so overall i could give this 9.9/10 the .1 being the bridge pup but easily changed a real awesome guitar that encourages yuo to play more

thanks for all youer comments

Agreed. Yeah, I wasn't ripping on the guitar itself. The neck on the 1527 is fucking incredible. Even with the action being up there, It still plays pretty damn effortlessly.

Glad your enjoying your new purchase, 777!

I have always wanted one of those too, I love Royal Blue, very nice color in person. In 1998, I acquired a 7620 BK (my first 7), the Royal Blue ones were out, I liked that finish way better than black.

It would rock if they put out some completely different colors in the next model run... like vintage Ibanez flourescent green, or bright red...
