Ibby fixed bridges question

Is there a 7-string version of the Gibralter Plus bridge on the market, or in the works? After playing that RGA121, that bridge was sooooooo nice to rest my hand on (per my playing style).

I have never been a fan of trems due to shifting pitches as I put my hand on the bridge (the Tremol-No could be an option for a future guitar, tho!), so I'm looking for high-end fixed bridges from Ibanez.

they dont at the moment, but the strat style fixed bridges, whilst not as pretty as gibraltar bridges are really comfortable, i dont have any problem with them, i prefer them to Les Paul style bridges...

also on a side note i heard that the string spacing on the gibraltar bridges is wider than normal... not sure if this is true tho

Ibanez seems to have stopped doing innovative stuff on their 7-string guitars--they're just holding steady with the same basic designs they've used for the past 10 years or so. I would also like to see a greater variety of 7-string fixed bridges, though I like Tuneomatics the best.

I agree. A tuneomatic would be perfect for me.

7StringofAblicK-This is my footswitch. it changes channels on my amp - just like on a television, but I only have four channels.

There isn't currently, but I know a RGA7 is something that a LOT of guys over at Jemsite have publically lusted for. Ibanez hasn't done much with their sevens of late, but maybe one day we'll see one.

As an aside, I don't get the "shifting" thing when resting your hand on the bridge. Like, do you guys push down or something? My picking hand is always in light contact with the bridge, and when I first heard people complaining about that, I even grabbed a tuner and checked - mine doesn't shift in the slightest.

+1 I've never had a problem with palm muting or anything (I've used Lo-Pro, Lo TRS and OFR models so can't comment on others). Are you really leaning on the thing or what?

That would be great if they built those.

I haven't played a trem-equipped guitar in a long time, maybe the one I did play was cheap, bad springs, dunno. As for the pushing down... I'll have to make a conscious effort to see, but I do believe that I put extra pressure on the side of my hand during my pick attack, thus pushing down on the bridge.

My first guitar was a Gibson V, so I'm used to the TOM bridge, which my Washburn has as well. My RG120 has the typical fixed bridge, but the height-adjusting allen screws irritate the side of my picking hand.

It would be really cool if they made a seven with that Gibralter bridge on it, it looks like a very solid, comfortable design.

I never had a problem with palm-muting on a Floyd. My problems are with the fact that every one I get seems to have issues with returning to zero pitch, the hassle of intonating them, and the amount of tone they suck out of the guitar as compared to a Tuneomatic.
