NGD - Mayones Setius GTM7
So... here I am amidst my whole process of complementing my 7-string guitar arsenal while trimming down the 6's, and this baby caught my eye. Long story short, she came home with me, and voilá:









Next week, I may be getting my hands on a custom made Mahogany / bubinga neck through PRS'ish 7 with Pau Ferro fingerboard. Let's see what happens.

As for this baby, she'll be on stage with Messy tonight.

Well, since you're in the US, it's normal that you don't know about Mayones. They are a well-established Polish brand that is best known for its connection to European prog and metal players (Pain Of Salvation, My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost and suchlike), although there are quite a few users in other styles, evidently.

This particular example belonged to a friend of mine, but he didn't really get along with the 7-string concept and decided he'd stick to 6-stringers. Basically, I jumped on the thing as soon as I knew of this - it doesn't just sound great, it looks absolutely stunning as well and pics don't really portray the wood grain properly, but I'll try to get some better shots of neck and body woods for you guys.

Electronics are DiMarzio, an Air Norton at the neck and a D-Sonic at the bridge. Basically, this guitar and the custom next week have the exact same bridge pickups I use in my Gary Kramers (D-Sonic 7 / EVO 7) with the addition of nice neck pickups, which the one one thing missing from the GK (hopefully, the R729 will come out next year, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed).

As I had posted on the "douchebag with the bandana" forums ( ), here it is:

It's extremely comfortable, to be honest. The neck isn't too "shreddy", so no stupidly sharp corners to turn your thumb over the neck action into self-inflicted martyrdom, but its profile is slim enough to accomodate my small hands without having to perform olympic antic to reach for the 7th string or play extended runs.

Is it as comfortable and ergonomic as the GKG Turbulence? No, but I'd never expect that sort of ergonomics on a strat-derived guitar, and this one is as comfy as strats get.

Jokes regarding bandanas aside, don't let you not liking Chappers stop you from trying one of these when you get the chance - they really are a very good, European made brand, with great customer support, and a good alternative to other very popular bands. I have no idea as to who is responsible for distributing these in Ireland, though.
