Help needed with new 7 string purchase

Hey guys,

This will be my first 7 string guitar. I'm considering putting an order in for a Heately Modern

http://www.heatleyguitars.com/modern.html

Think it could suitable for hard rock/metal detuned stuff?

Anyone have experience with these guitars? Would love to hear your opinion on them.

I'm also considering the Vigier Supra.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Interesting. I'm not sure about a hollow body though? I guess it could be a metal guitar,,,, really anything can be, just some are better suited. I've played some metal on hollowbodies at work and found that they just had to much twang, and lacked something for shreading. So I am assuming that you are considering that "Modern" in a solid body?

For that kind of money, you get 2 Ibanez RG's one with a trem and 1 without. Metal guitar for me is The RG7s ( 7620,7621,7421,1527) & UV777BK.

Conklin has the "new century series" which are in that price range. Never played one of those, but I do own a Conklin Groove tools GT7-T and if this Korean model is hot I can only imagine how cool the USA models are.

Personally I'm an Ibanez Whore. I think many will agree that Ibanez Prestige 7 strings really set the standard for 7 string guitars. You don't have to go broke to a great guitar. However if you want to spend some big bucks on something I would look into getting J-Custom 7. The ibanez Japan site has a variety of 7's that aren't offered in the US.

Ha ha ha. Borat is funny.

Other than that, IŽd say Ibanez is the way to go. If youŽre gonna pay that much, you might as well take something you know owns, and a J-Custom sounds ultra-peachy.

Thanks guys, I'll look into those suggestions.
Yeah, I wouldn't get the hollow body, they are available as a solid too. There are some pics of a custom 7 string on his site. Before I spend that kind of cash I'll look around. Thanks again!

I also think, that there is a better way of investing money in a 7-string exists...

that's good.

Ibanez or Schecter. Good guitars, great features, reasonable prices
