Allen, I love the guitars. I'd like to try one of those GT Conklin's. It does have a wierd looking neck joint though.

As for the Ibanez, that is definitely and RG7421 body. The square mounting tab routes on the pickup routes give it away. An RG7621 would have slimmer triangular tabs for the Dimarzio's.

Good work on saving those though.

But once I picked it and started dinking around with it, it grew on me very quick. It's not as comfy to me as an Ibanez as far as how it feels up against my ribs, but the neck is amazing. The craftsmanship is outstanding, I can only imagine how nice the US models are. I wouldn't mind acquiring one of the black hardtails now. My Ibanez are still NUMBER 1 with me.

Yeah, actually, upclose you don't really notice the odd body style. The neck is just downright slick as fuck.

Good eye man,,, I really don't know what to make of this thing. Like I said earlier in this post the neck joint pocket has an ink stamp stating "621" and the neck where it bolts onto the body has another ink stamp "421". So I just don't know, they probably screwed up in a change of model scramble, figured no one would catch it or care. I'm thinking about adding all the numbers together and calling it an RG8363WBK ( worn black ). I'm thinking it was intended to be a 7421 due to the majority thing. Either way it plays great.

That weird looking neck joint freaked me out at first, but once you play it,, you forget all about it. I still like my Ibanez better, but god damn these Conklins are very close. I would love to have a black hard tail version for sure.
