Nit picky
So I noticed that both my recently acquired Ibanez RG7621s feel like 2 totally different guitars. They are both '99s with Wizard 7 necks. The neck on the white feels way thicker. So out of curiosity I measured the thickness at the 12 fret. The white one comes out at 21.1mm and the black at 20.8mm. Not that big of a difference but it sure feels like it.
Anybody else have multiples of the same Ibanez 7s with noticable differences like that? I guess I find it kind of irritating. On the other hand, for comparison, when it came to my old JP7s, I could not tell the difference with my eyes closed. All 3 played and felt exactly the same. *sigh* |

Yep, remember I said the same thing when you brought them over. Strange indeed, but still very playable.

Very playable. Did a little neck treatment to the white one yesterday and it feels really nice now.

I'm yet to play two Ibanez's that feel the same. Whenever I play someone else's 1527, it seems to feel different.
The best feel I've ever had for a guitar, would be on my old RG120. It's unbelievable how nice it feels. ![]() |

Yeah, I bought an Ibanez RG220 or something a few years ago for $99 and it was a killer playing guitar. I bought it to used as a beater to smash and all that good stuff but it just played so damn well.

Pick up a Schecter or ESP, play it for 10 minutes, then go back to your RG7621 and it'll feel like a tooth pick and you'll feel better

The black 7621 that Donnie has now has an interesting neck--pronounced "D" profile that reminded me a lot of Jackson, actually. My old '99 7620's neck, which interestingly had the skunk-stripe, felt much thinner and more Wizard-like.
