I had heard that the quality on these was poor... anybody care to comment? I did a search and found very little on them.

I'm more interested in the Kelly 7 that's on Ebay at the moment.

I would strongly recommend no one touch these late 90s/early 00s import Jackson 7-strings. This includes the RR7, KE7, DR7 and DX7. These are some of the poorest quality 7-strings I've ever played and I've played 40+ models over the years. The fretwork is just awful, and its tinny and thin, with a mediocre neck.

If you want a Jackson, check out the newer ones made such as the DK7.

Why? If you want one, just import it. Ikebe-gakki does international sales, among others. But yeah the KV7 is awesome.

I recently got a chance to play a KE7 for a couple of minutes. It was actually pretty decent, but that's partially because it's owned by one of the better local guitar techs, who did a LOT of work to it--Schaller tuners, new custom-made nut, Evo pickups, 1k volume pot, etc. I didn't get to plug it in, but the owner said that those crazy electronics he installed give it a lot of edge and presence. The guitar was noticeably tighter and bigger acoustically than my old DR7, but that might have something to do with better tuners and a graphite nut.
