1) the aforementioned tapping 2) Just doing it like the jazz players do....fretting with the left and picking with the right. I'll play the bass lines with my index & middle finger (sometimes thumb) & chords with my middle, ring & pinky fingers. To pick, I'll pluck the bass notes with a pick or my thumb & use my index, middle & ring fingers to sound the upper chords. It can be daunting at first, but once you get the technique down, it's no different than anything else. |

Ok, the tuning is now Death approve top 6 with the 7th dropped to G!
I'm suprised it's actually this low, and still playable. Fucking hell it's heavy, I tells you! I'm going to drop it down to F# now just to hear how heavy an 8 string would be. ![]() F# is fucking HEAVY! Last edited by Karl Hungus; 04-30-2006 at 04:09 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Yeah, I wonder if you could do a whole step down, drop c, then drop f for effect without going totally into mud. I find g to be a little muddy even with a relatively thick string, unless you have a 27"-er. 30" holds an f just fine, though.

It was also probably partly due to the craptastic stock pups in the H207, if I had some good ones it might've sounded decent but thicker strings (like a 64) would've helped a lot.

![]() BC Rich offer every model as a 7 String in the custom shop though, and they're fairly affordable too compared to a lot of other custom shops. $2299 was the price tag of said custom built instrument. |

TRY A TUNING I CALL "DOUBLE DROP".
TUNE THE LOW E TO D, SO IF YOU'RE PLAYING IT AS A 6 YOU HAVE THE OPTION OF DROP D. THEN, TUNE THE LOW B TO A. YOU CAN PLAY YOUR NORMAL DROP D STUFF, THEN WHEN YOU GO LOWER YOU ONLY NEED TO FINGER THE 5TH WITH YOUR RING FINGER, THE ROOT & THE OCTAVE STAY WITH THE FIRST FINGER. I USE THIS TUNING ON A COUPLE OF TUNES WITH MY H207 & IT REALLY OPENS UP SOME RANGE, WHILE ALLOWING YOU TO SOLO WITH STANDARD TUNING WITHOUT MUCH THOUGHT ADJUSTMENT. |
