New D'Addario string sets

Hey guys i just went to my local shop to buy some more sets of strings & i nomally use the D'Addario .10 -.56 set & have done for a while but it seems they no longer make that set as the retailer I use was told this & the new shipment from D'Addario was sets that were .10 -.59 ! I've measured the .59 against my .56 to make sure it's not a print error & it's definitely a thicker string.

This isn't a problem as i was thinking of going to a .58 anyway but do any of you know anything about this?

Perhaps they realised that 54 doesn't have enough tension for the Low B. Anything from 59 upwards is just right

Yep, looks like they did go with 59. The specs show this change, but it doesn't say it on the packaging yet.

Cool with me though. Since I drop my 56 down to A, I could stand a bit more tension.

59 is cool... for B standard 10-56 is fine, but that extra thickness should help for guys who tune to Bb like me.

i'm a fan of GHS's 10-60 7 string set, need to buy some more of those for my RG7421 and neck through 7 when they are done with paint and ready to play...
