How does the JP7 compare to the UV/2027?

Well, I'm aquiring Donnie's EBMM Gold JP7. It's got the piezos and all that good stuff. I've never played a Petrucci Sig, I'd like to hear from any of you guys who own or are a fan of these guitars, and tell me what you think of them, and how they compare/contrast to the high end Ibanez 7s. I'm guessing it would make most sense to compare it to the UV777BK or 2027X, not the K7 and S7420FM I also have.

PS: Thanks again Donnie for the great deal, I'm sorry for your loss.

Nick, I've personally played the guitar you're getting. 4 words....
You're gonna love it!

Patience grasshoppa...
That guitar is worth every penny and then some.

Congrats, Zimbloth, your collection of 7s is growing more impressive.

Sorry, Donnie, at least it is going to good new home.

I've never played a guitar with a trem system like this. It seems odd to me it has a floating trem but no fine tuners or locking nut. I hpoe it's not too hard to change his B tuning to Bb.

I guess what I'm looking for is not just if its good or not, but how its different than other guitars, specifically Ibanez. Like, the neck, what those DiMarzios sound like, the weight, all the little details.

I know I'll find out soon, but it's fun to find out more to pass the time

the DiMarzios = awesome

if you do alot of volume/tone knob work on the fly, I predict you will find the position of the controls will take some getting used to (at least I did)

I usually just have the volume and tone maxed all the time, except when doing cleans. How well does the piezo balance with the magnetic pickups? Can it combine with the mags or is it one or the other? Etc?

^ Although I know the answer you seek, I'm staying quiet that way you can be even more giddy when you plug it in for the first time. Oh, the fun you will be having as Donnie cries a little on the inside.
