* STRINGS *

One of the problems that I have run into is finding the right 7 string set for myself.

On my 6 string electric guitars, I had a local shop that carried a custom set of: 9-11-16-24-36-46. My ideal 7 string set would be: 9-11-16-24-36-46-(58 or 60)

Does anyone know of such a set? Otherwise I would get the GHS-GB7L and swap out the 32-42 with 36-46 trashing two strings.

Check out their bulk strings and build your own custom sets. They don't tell you the manufacturer, but the general consenses is D'addario.

No prob. Poke around here a little more, there are a few threads floating around about balanced tension string sets that should be helpful when creating your own custom sets.

I'd link to one, but that would require me to use the search function right now...

That's cool. A good savings too.

It looks like from JustStrings the D'Addario Electric Guitar 3 Pack Environmental XL Super Light Top/Regular Bottom would suit me, .009 - .046, EXL125-3D and then I'll add either a 056, 059 or 060.

What do you guys think?

Also, could you be so kind as to throw up the gauge that you are currently using on your 7.

Stilzkin, you don't find that the 56 is too light? It doesn't flub up on you for fast rhythm attack?

So here's what I came up with. Seems cheap. I'd pay twice this at GC. GC charges a buck just for a single. JustStrings charges 2.90 for 12. Sounds fishy. No? 42.62 total!!!
