My new RG1527
just pulled into my driveway, and what's this, a big cardboard box leaning against my front door...FUCK YEAH!!!
I ordered a new RG1527 last week (in black!) and it has just arrived. I'll try to save everybody the trouble of smiley hunting and let you know that I can't do pics right now cause my cpu took a big crap a week ago, and I've yet to get it fixed... ...although I'm still totally expecting to see this:![]() haha cause I know I would do the same... anyway, this thing looks awesome. Came in the J custom case with all the delicious case candy and all that (also came with a free Ibby weeping demon pedal, anybody ever try out one of those?) the neck is nice and straight, tuners work great (as it definitely needed some tweaking out of the box), action isn't too bad right now, but I'll certainly be trying to lower it a bit. Switches and knobs all work great, as does the input jack. The trem bar doesn't seem to want to fit in the trem, or it's really tight, anybody know anything about that? Gawd, these strings are really light, I feel all jittery trying to play this thing! So, Ibby players weigh in...I'm looking at putting a d sonic 7 and air norton 7 in this, trying to get the tone as close to my JP 7 as possible, from what I've read on here, I think this is the closest pickup set available? Also, any tips on setting up this trem will be much appreciated, as I haven't ever used this one (the edge pro 7). I'm thinking about blocking it for down only...anybody hear anything on the tremol-no lately? I'm thinking about getting a new set of strings from Juststrings and trying to do the optimum string tension thing that Paolo is always pushing. From what I've read, these tuners (gotoh) should take a much larger gauge than what my JP 7 does (I have a hard time getting a 56 into the JP). Any input on this guitar from anybody in the know is much appreciated. I bought a six string Ibby years ago (350DX I think it was) and it was a total lemon, anything that could have gone wrong with that guitar did, so I had to get passed that experience to start on this one. I'm hoping for much better things from this baby .Pics will be up hopefully soon, but will probably be later than sooner, as I work the next week straight and have 2 shows coming up. I'd love to have this git ready by next weekend, though that may be wishful thinking. Thanks in advance for all replies ![]() |

Hey man, congrats! You have a great guitar there and I think youll be more than happy
Did you get that from music123? (thats the only place Ive seen that in something other than royal blue) Anywho once you get it set up like you like it the guitar will treat you well. Those pups should complement the guitar. Give a review for the d-sonic, I am thinking of getting one myself. Oh and I think the trem arm is just new, give it some silly dive boms for me ![]() |

Congrats Dude sounds like you scored an awesome Guitar although i'm really jealous you got it in BLACK!!!!!!!
Anyway Back to Business I can't help with the pups but got advice on the trem, the arm's ok just a bit tight to start with & as for strings, mine came with a set of 9's & were very light so i switched to 10's but had to replace the trem springs with heavy duty springs as you can only put 3 on there due to a locking plate on the trem. since I did this i've never had any problems with tuning or action so it's all good. hope i've helped Dude ![]() |

Congrats!
The trem bar is pretty tight, you have to force it in there. A twisting motion always helps.

ya thanks everybody, music123 is where I got it...it came with the prestige Jcustom case...the black looks awesome...transparent tops are so nice and I always drool over them, but solid gloss black is just a fuckin classic
I guess I may need to get some different springs if you can only get 3 on there, cause I normally play with 11's, and if I do that optimum string tension thing I'll probably be getting up close to a 68 or 70 (!) for the low B. I'll certainly let everybody know how the pup situation turns out...if anybody has any suggestions on pups, please ring in. |

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |
