Schecter 007 Elite

So does anyone own one of the newer Schecter 007 Elites with the single coils in them? I'm thinkng about getting one and wondering if the stock pups are decent or if they will require an immediate switch (I've got a 7321, and the stock pups are HORRIBLE though I love the neck...).

Yeah, I've got one. Actually, the pups sounds really good tonally.
The bridge HB has a lot of bite to it. Strong low end, good mid bite & a tasteful highs. It's way better than the Ibanez pups in your RG7321 and my S7420.

The single coil has got that great Stratocaster "quack" to it. If you're looking for that "Yngwie Malmsteen / George Lynch / James Murphy" smooth lead sound, this pup will do it. My only concern with the single coil is that it's output is pretty low. I run a very hi-gain sound & therefore, I have to run the noise gate fairly heavy. The single coil does have a bit of trouble getting past my noise gate during hi-gain solos due to it's lower output. If this sounds like it may be a problem for you as well, you can always take the pup and have it rewound hotter or go purchase a Rio Grande pup. I plan to have it rewound.

Thanks, that's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I feel much better about picking one of these up now... now I just need to decide between black cherry and black

Debating... I had originally thought trans black hands down, but the the black cherry is growing on me. You looking to get rid of yours?

I'm also trying to figure out why when I searched for 'Schecter 007 Elite' the thread you posted on yours didn't turn up...

How's the neck compare to the Blackjack C7? I just payed one of those last night and liked the neck (obviously the scale is different, but thickness-wise). Only reason I didn't buy it was it was a little beat up and GC wanted $599 for it (used? WTF I can buy a brand new one for that....).

Any scratches etc on yours? If it's mint I may be interested depending on the price. Do you a have a hardshell case for it?
