Played a 1527 today

for the first time at a local music store here, I've never played one before.

It was brand new and it played real nice, I like the 5-piece neck and the headstock looked cool (I didn't know the Ibanez logo was pearl abalone

) and I noticed in the back of the headstock, it is thicker right where it meets the neck. I liked the color too, it was real nice and the case was beautiful. They were asking 849.99 for it. I wasn't going to buy it, but I enjoyed playing it.

Just thought I'd share.

I didn't know that the headstock inlay was abalone either.

All prestige ibanez guitars have it.

Is it just the word "prestige" that is in abalone?

Actually, I think that is the only part that is not abalone. It appears on my 1570L that only "ibanez" is abalone

doesn't look like abalone to me, if it is its very crappy abalone. it *might* be mother of pearl, but its hard to tell because its so small.
