7-string noob (WG587)

Hey dudes, im new here, and I picked up the Washburn around December. Quite a nice guitar; it floors me for the price. My only complaint is the pickups get kinda muddy under really intense gain. Any recommendations for pickups with great clarity for super heavy shit? I want to stay away from 707's cuz i dont wanna route my guitar.

Yeah, I have the same problem. So this thread is good for me as well.

Note: It has an Alder body.

Haven't really checked out any alternatives, but the DiMarzio Blaze Custom slays.

A temporary fix might be to lower the pickups thus giving them room to breath.

What the hell?? I didn't even know they had basswood ones. Hmm. Well, mine is Alder. Also I have lowered my pick ups too. Thinking along the same lines. It helps some.
