it's alder put a new pickguard in to straighten out those angled single coils. plus its got a maple board.

I've been seriously thinking of getting one. But, I'm gonna wait for Drew to get one first so he can tell me if it sucks or not.

Something about that just doesn't inspire confidence... There's also the "fingerboard = rosewood" bit, lol. "Um, no, really, it's not..."

Eh, maybe at some point, but I'd rather not drop $200 on what could very well be a POS electric at the moment.

i would prefer a normal looking strat though... the middle and neck single coils straight and such. idc about the bridge position, as long as it sounds nice.

^^ a new pickguard will fix that, also drew they have a 7 day return policy all you would have to do is cover shipping.

hmm. i'd count myself in if my tentative college tuition wasn't kill me. but then again, i'd have either a jp7 or uv7 anyway (both of which come with an interesting enough single coil trick/option to tide me over till a heavy hitting 7string strat appears)

This may be a dumb question but...yeah we all gotta learn at some point.

What is the point of putting the single coils at an angle?

Dosn't it change the tonal properties of each string?

well, the way that the SCs angle on a normal strat's bridge position, the higher strings are slightly brighter and the lower strings are slightly darker... but the bridge SC is really bright over all so it's not that noticeable.

the way it's angled on that 7string strat, the hope is to make the lower strings brighter while the higher strings are mellower. (i think i messed up the terminology regarding the bridge sound but you should get the general idea)
