First Seven

I'm looking for my first seven string and i was wondering what would be a good one to get, i really like the RG body styles of the ibanez's and would prefer one of them. I've seen good things about the RG7321 and the K7, but the k7 is almost too pricy but i can buy it on credit at my local shop. any ideas?

What are you looking for? Any particular options or a certain kind of feel or tone?

K7 is a very interesting guitar, certainly.

well i like playing korn, but i want to kinda do my own thing too, all i know is that a 7 string gives me the low end i want. I like a lot of weird distortions, so i need a guitar that can give me a little variety sound wise.

i've heard that the k7 limits your tone though because its lack of tone knobs.

Not really man. Rolling down the volume knob gives you a ton of different tones. The tone knob really just rolls off your highs, I personally have a K7 and never miss the tone knob.

I've got a 7321 and I love it. I tried out the K7 at a local guitar shop and didn't really like it because it was just so darn heavy. Mahogany really makes a difference. I didn't get to play with the U-bar cause it was in a store where the clerks weren't exactly courteous. But, it was a pretty nice guitar, just heavy.

You could check out the 1527 too, or do you not like that model? Personally I think the 7321 is a great guitar once you get it set up and lop off those nasty bridge-height screws.
