I kind of like goofy colored pickups. If it does bother me, and I like the pickups, I'd just get those bobbin poppers.

Right now I have the UV w/ the Blaze configuration. The K7 with PAF7s. The S7420-FM with the Blaze Neck in the bridge. The Evo would definitely give me some variety. If I hate it, I'll get (ROFL BRONSON ARROYO JUST BLASTED A HOMERUN, YOU BOSTONIANS WILL GET A KICK OUT OF THAT) a different pickup. As much as I love the Blaze Neck in bridge, I'd prefer something new. I'd maybe check out the D-Sonic, X2N7, Blaze Custom or a Seymour Duncan SH-5b. I may try the Evo in the neck, for smoking neck leads, and use the peizos for clean. I dunno... lots of options

Bottom line is, I've heard horrible things about Evos, and I'm not a fan of Via's bridge tone much, but I'll judge for myself, and yeah hopefully the mahogany/rosewood combo helps.

Well, I bought my 2127X back in 2002 from Ishibashi, and I just looked it up. 116,000 Yen for the guitar and 17,000 for shipping/insurance. At that time, it was $988 USD for the guitar and $138 for shipping/insurance. So $1126 total. With a case.

I'd say $920 for a great shape guitar is a fair price. And seeing only 2 dings on 'non-visible' spots, along with 2 aftermarket pickups, I'd say it's a good deal you got.
