7 string Dilemma....
I've came to the conclusion that finding a 7 that really fits my needs is becoming near impossible! I've been looking around and I've found a few options.
1. Send some of my web nazis that can get ahold of those obscure lefty Ibanezs and have one imported. The only downside to this is once one is found, by the time I pay for the guitar shipping and import taxes. I'm looking at a really good sum of money. 2. I've found a couple luthiers that are willing and able to make me a lefty 7. Downside. I have absolutely have to have a GOOD double locking trem. Here's the problem w/ that. Finding a GOOD double locking trem. Ibanez makes the Edge Pro7 in lefty and I can buy the whole system....for around $400. IMO, the edge pro isn't that great of a bridge, so that's not really feasible. Ibanez also use to make a the Lo Pro Edge7 in lefty but it's not looking like I'm going to be able to accquire one of them either... I enquired to Floyd Rose about their OFR7 in lefty and they said that they don't make them and won't be looking into possibly making them until Dec. of this year. Unless I just happen to be able to order and PAY for 150 units. The latter is not likely to happen unless I hit the lotto. Anyone have any other ideas that I'm possibly overlooking here? |

Get a hold to another ESP M-207 and take the Floyd (Licenced) off of it.
It would be nice though to get myself a hold to a real RG7 lefty though.

Where the hell did you hear this? Because, well, they don't. Just do what I did and convert an ibanez lopro 7 into a lefty, and use a lefty 7 nut.
POOF!

I ordered one of those for my leviiathan 7 string. Didn't open the packaging, just looked through it and felt around it a bit. I don't have too high of hopes for it to be honest. I don't think it will stand up too well compared to my lo pro or edge pro that is on my 6.
But like I said, I didn't even use one before so it might still be good. |

What Scott said - have a righty trem of your choice converted to a lefty, it's not that difficult. Although the one from partsdepot doesn't look to bad, reminds me of the Gotoh trems. But I have to idea how well it is built.
Also, Kahler offered a little while ago to make custom one off 7-string trems. Those can be set-up lefty or rigthy, and I'd personally pick one of those over a floyd-style anytime. The only problem is it would cost something in the area of $500-$600. Finally, the bridge on Ibanez K7 has holes drilled on both sides already, but I'm not sure if it's available as a part. |

The ones from GPD are out of the question. They are made by the same place that makes the TRS bridges. At least that's what I was told when I called. Right now my only options are getting a lo pro 7 or OFR7 and converting 1 to lefty. |

Let us know how that bridge you bought for Leviathan is when you get a chance to check it out. Btw, how's that Carvin V3? |
