Any guitar that you can buy without having to do a setup
Mostly any guitar you buy needs a setup and some love even when it comes out of the box, why?
and is there any guitar that don't need it ? |

My acoustic....
Nothing to adjust. "Dude, you need to find the right fucking meds to be on, because you are the most unstable person I know." |

it depends on how well it's setup at the factory before going out. if it's setup just the way you like, then no adjusts would be needed. my RG570 and XV500 both came to me setup pretty damned good, and i didn't have to adjust them much. my RG7621 needed some work, which i did, and it plays as nice as the others.
I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

My CS Jackson needed nothing, other than a minor action raise since most people don't whack guitars like I do. Then again, a custom piece BETTER be great right out of the box...
Jackson and Hamer's USA lines are both usually excellent right from the factory. |

my Rhoads V was pretty excellent from the factory(japanese RR5), though i didn't like its pickups lol...i've never even had to touch the truss rod, the only thing i've ever done is lower or raise the action depending on how i felt at the time lol...

I prefer it to come non-setup, because my style and the way I like everything has to be perfect for me anyway.

It really depends a lot on you and how you like your guitars. Everything is personal taste. For instance if you don't like the string gauge or tuning a guitar comes in, you're gonna have to tweak.

Let's not forget the entire deal with air pressure/temperature changes with wood. Being transported across a country by land or air can have very adverse affects on something like a guitar, with the extreme variations in air pressure and temperatures, and can make the wood expand and contract like crazy within a very short amount of time.
Also, most guitars come equipped with the lightest possible gauge strings on them straight from the factory. Why? I have no idea, but the last time I used a set of 9's on a 6-string is beyond my memory. Why then, for every single guitar that I've bought in the past couple of years (besides my custom shop RR-1 and SL-2 from Jackson) has it been a completely necessary need to change the strings before I can even want to play it...I'll never understand a guitar made for heavy metal playing would come with such a light set of strings, but if it saves them money, whatever. That said, typically they come out of the factory set-up pretty damn nicely. But with the transport and string gauge things going on...I'm pretty sure it takes a certain player to have it arrive on his/her doorstep and be "perfect" for them. I always re-set-up my guitars when I buy them anyway as a bit of a habit, so I can't comment on the matter much. I've never really just taken a guitar out of the box and played it, or even wanted to play it. I am really anal about making sure it's right before I even touch it, otherwise if it's not to my standards, I'll think less of the guitar. Not too fair for the axe, if you ask me. ![]() ~006+1

Parkers are invulnerable to climate changes, and their necks are so rock solid that they can't budge... so my vote would be for them. I owned a few of them, and they were perfect every moment.
