Need Help with an amp

Back when i was playing 6 Strings i bought a marshall half stack with MG100HDFX Head and MG412A and it worked lovely for that. But since i've been playing 7 strings ive had to get it fixed - a lot. it simply cannot take the low tunings - Drop A and A standard.
I'm gonna fix it up once more then sell it because it just dies on me too often.
Now the question is....what amp shall i get? I havent got all the money in the world to spend but i do wannt to get a much better amp than that. I don't really wanna trust the reviews on music123 and such because i've heard of people from the company writing reviews for them to make people buy them.

What do y'all think?
Cheers

I've had great success with a Genz-Benz G-Flex 2x12 cab and I've used a Line 6 HD147 and Hughes & Kettner Warp 7 through it. The Madison Divinity is absolutely brutal. Very Recto tone for less money.
I think there are a few guys on here using a Line 6 Spider 2 head through a 4x12 of some sorts. Not too bad an idea either.

Madison Divinity is brutal you say? could come in handy - i play death metal primarily and such

ohoohhh yeah I live in England so some things may be hard to get a hold of, and shipping an amp from amwerica would cost loads due to customs and whatnot.

Well....
Are you into tubes? Solid state? Modelling?
Are you into Combos? 1/2 stacks? Full stacks?
How many watts?
What tone do you prefer? Examples?
How much money do you wanna spend?
Are you cool with new or used?

It's all about specifics, man!

Uhm...i dont really know much about amps..a half stack would be cool, 100+ watts, spend from about £500-800 i dont mind if its used just as long as it like...works. An amp that has a lot of bass and can handle the bass as well as highs....i hope that helps a bit, sorta

For the money you are talking about, in the UK you aren't getting much bang for your buck. If you are going half stack, for a decent head for metal you are pretty much blowing your entire budget. For your money you should be looking on ebay for a 5150/6505 at around £400-500 or an Engl Fireball at about £700-800 (new - I haven't seen them used). If you can push the funds a bit more, I would look out for an Engl Powerball half stack on ebay with a footpedal for about £1000.

Despite your concerns about reviews, Harmony Central has a shitload of members (making for a good review section but perhaps not a great forum) so it is worth checking it out.

If this info isn't useful I would suggest that Shannon is right as you are still not being particularly specific about what you want in an amp (tubes or solid state) or what you want it for (e.g playing live, bedroom etc).

get a Mesa

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

ahh, that's true. well, i was going to post up Mesa anyways, but then he said he wanted full bass response with plenty of highs, so i felt the tiniest bit justified
