![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ibanez S7420FM Came Today (Wow..) This thing is beautiful. It weighs next to nothing, and has the most gorgeous lush clean sound I've ever heard on a 7-string. It's outstanding. This is even with the stock pickups. With distortion, the rhythm and lead tones are fairly good, although it doesn't quite have the low B clarity and growl I'm used to. A Blaze Neck is going in the bridge ASAP. The stock neck pickup sounds nice and I may leave it as is. This guitar is also so small compared to my UVs and K7, it's really comfortable to play and is extremely resonant. I dig the recessed input jack as well. I don't know if the trem is blocked (dont think so) or just has a lot of springs, but the floyd doesn't seem to go out of tune no matter what I do, even if I drop A it or do whatever. So far I might not need a Tremol-No after all, it's like a hard tail at the moment. I tuned it to Bb/Eb/Ab/Db/Gb/Bb/Eb and it took like 3 seconds, didn't need to follow the usual floyd routine. Pics soon to follow. To that other dude who just ordered one, you're gonna love it man. ![]() |

I love the cleans on the Uni, especially from the 2 4 positions, and the neck. On the Saber, every postion other than the bridge is absolutely GORGEOUS. Man this mahogany and maple top makes this thing so fucking resonant and loud. It's loud unplugged which is always a good sign. |

![]() I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways, we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ok, as promised here are some clips of the S7420FM. Disclaimer: The strings on this thing are like old and blackened, so keep that in mind. Pay no attention to the sloppy playing, wasn't caring much about staying in time ![]() Ok, clip one is the middle position played through the Mesa's "Fat' mode, with a touch more gain then I probably should have used. I like the twang sound it gets. Clip two is on the modern setting, gain on about 7.5 or so. Saber Clean Saber Dirty I can't wait to hear this thing with the Blaze in there ![]() ![]() ![]() |
