Those kind of deals don't present itself often, though.

Yeah, most of the time I'm broke because I spend every freaking penny I have on gear. Whenever I get money, I become obsesed and spend hours on ebay and other sites looking for the smallest excuse to blow it all.

It's sad really But it's cool, at least I use them and get inspiration from them for my band(s). I actually let the other guitarist in my band use them as well, as his guitar is kind of gay at the moment.

Yeah, that's a textbook case of GAS if I ever heard one

I'm the same way, except I have absolutely no money. I just always know what I'd blow it on if I did

Any of you have any ideas what I should put in the bridge of the S7420FM I'm getting? Something that's not a Blaze or PAF. I'm leaning towards a Seymour Duncan Custom 7, Invader 7, DiMarzio Tone Zone or Drop Sonic 7 (if it ever comes out).

Why not try something low-output? You said you love the PAF7's... so how about those, or maybe the SD Jazz-7? I've heard the Jazz 6 in the bridge, and like the PAF's, it crushes. Those low-outputs pups just kill for clarity and tone.

Just an idear.

Hah, nah the Paf7 is all the low output fun I need for now I don't need anything so blazing hot like an X2N or Evolution. I'm thinking maybe a Blaze Neck in the bridge.

There's an idea.

I'm about brilliant. I just noticed you said "not a PAF." Duh.

The Blaze neck sounds intruiging. Again, the SD Jazz is alot like the Blaze neck. I was amazed at the metal tone that thing has. Brutal. As regards the D-Sonic, I have one ordered from Eric. Word is, according to Steve Blucher at Dimarzio, the D-Sonics should ship by the end of this month. I'm itching to try it out (although I always end up with the Blaze Bridge in my 2027, again and again.)

BTW, I thought your PAF-7s on that clip you did with the K-7 sounded awesome. Utmost clarity and attack. I'm really thinking I'd like to try those things out.

That's interesting about the Jazz, I wouldn't have even thought of that. Still though, although that may sound great, it probably doesn't quite have the harmonics and overtones I'm looking for in that guitar. Good idea though.

Thanks Yeah, the Mesa direct on the modern setting is a bit muddy too. When I play my K7 through tube heads like Mesa/Peavey/Laney/etc, MY GOD it has the most ridiculous tight crunch ever, but not in a sterile EMG-81 kind of way, while still having tons of balls and warmth. I love it. The K7 is the most underrated guitar out there IMHO.

Anyways, I think if I get a Duncan it will be the SH-5 Custom. The Invader sounds great through my rig (as I had it in a 6-string), but I don't think I want an overly compressed pickup right now. I'll probably still end up with a DiMarzio though.

PS: If you want more audio clips of the PAF7s w/ the K7/Mesa, let me know.
