2" at the nut is the way to go for me!

I use Floyd Rose trems; I'm not sure what width the strings are spaced there, but that seems comfortable to me too. (I think it's called F-spaced)

What do you mean? As in the distance between the strings if you look at them perpendicularly?

Yes, or the measured width of the lot together - whichever you know off the top of your head or are willing to measure.

7321= 11mm apart, 6.4 cm across.
Sigma acoustic = same distance apart, 5.5 cm across.

If you don't mind me proposing, I think asking people what action they use may make for a better question.

Action is far more personal and is ultimately adjustable - fret board curvature (relief), nut slot depth and bridge height are maleable on any well made instrument. That question is always asked to be sure.

1 7/8" nut for seven string, 1 11/16" for six.

Division - American metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on MySpace, and Soundclick, too.

1 7/8" for sevens. Mike's Washburn Sonic 7 is 2", and I really had to stretch for some stuff when playing it.

abyssalservant is a jewel in the rough
I've always found Washburns uncomfortably wide . . . why do they make the strings so much farther apart than everyone else?
RG7321-BK - 48mm at nut, 65mm at last fret
SR305DX-BK - 45mm at nut, 67mm at last fret
The 305's a 5-string, hence the fact that it's more narrow. Strings are still farther apart. If it was a 307 . . . *shivers*
Just for the record, there's no such thing.

I don't really think much about this... I believe Ibanez 7's are 1 7/8" at the nut, which is slightly tighter than standard spacing for seven strings relative to a normal six string nut (like on my strat, which I also find comfortable.

To further complicate this, as I understand my Martin has wider-than-normal string spacing, somewhere between regular acoustic spacing and classical spacing. Not so much so that it's noticably "wow, this is a big neck," but I guess it's bigger than their normal guitars.

I go back and forth between all three guitars with ease, and don't notice a transition when I go from one to the next. They're all comfortable to me.
