Dimarzio "New 7" pickups, made for Ibanez by them specifically for the RG76xx guitars.

I'll take that as it means they haul some ass. Whats the retail on a 7620 anyways?

I think they were $1200 list, not positive.
I dunno if I'd refer to the New 7's as hauling ass, since I ditched mine within a month of owning my 7620. lol Some people keep them though, so they aren't low quality, just a different type of tone. ![]() |

The stock pickups are junk I think. They sound muddy and the output level is low. I'd look into a seymore duncan, or an emg (if you want to route the body out)

Low output? I'd disagree with that, part of their muddiness comes from the pickups being some of the hottest 7 string pickups Dimarzio has ever made. They've even said the New7 bridge pickup was based on the Super Distortion.
The problem isn't output, it's that the output is all in the lows and low mids, which makes it all fat and muddy on a 7 string. If you have a very treble intensive rig though, I could imagine these sounding somewhat decent. |
