ESP LTD Viper 407 vs. K7

Can somebody tell me what are the main differences between the ESP LTD Viper 407 EMG and the K7.
I'm very happy with my K7, but the Viper looks awesome. Is the Viper neck much thicker, which one is better for soloing and has anybody played both? I'm a freshman with 7-strings so any help is appreciated!!

The K7 is a higher-quality guitar, and would likely be better for playing solos (better dressed frets and more shred-worthy neck). I have a VP-407, and it has a nice neck shape, but it's definitely thicker than you'd find on the Ibanez. As far as other differences, the K7 has a bolt-on neck and a tremolo, whereas the 407 has a set neck and a Tuneomatic fixed bridge. They're really quite different guitars, and it's tough to compare them.

Since you've already got a K7, my advice is to stick with that--it's a damn nice guitar.

No contest IMO, but you already know what I'm going to say. K7 all the way for too many reasons to list.

The 407 viper is neck heavy and actually isn't that great a guitar (for an ESP). I tried one and I found it awkward to play.

Stick with the K7. You get a hell of alot of guitar for the money

The main reason I usually advocate guitars that aren't Ibanez is the mahogany thing. So, the K7 is mahogany, and it has a trem. I loved the 6 string viper, but I've never played the 7. Try it out and see which you like better. The viper has some cool fret markers.

The K7 is truly an amazing piece. It is so comfortable to play and the heaviness of the sound is just crushing IMO. I'd never sell it (just made myself this present for Christmas) but I'm starting to reallyyy like 7-strings that's why I'm already gathering infos for a second one. Thanks for your opinions guys!

I would totally keep the K7. Great guitar, even with the retarded inlay.
