Regarding my new RG1527...

I just got my RG1527 yesterday, I love it, it's really smooth and plays like butter, I had no problems getting used to the extra string, my friends tell me that when they play seven strings that they hit the low B string when they want to hit the E or another string, but to me I don't hit it unintentionally, it's as easy to play as my sixers, my only gripe with this guitar, as every one else, are the pickups, I'm getting a EMG 81-7 and a 707 for it, it's going to look sicker than it already does, and man... I can't even imagine how it's going to sound.

Now to install these EMGS, should I do it myself or should I send it to a guitar shop to have them installed, naturally I'll overpay but at least it will get the job done. Or should I just attempt to install them myself so I can save cash and even learn a few things. How does one go on about routing a guitar for EMG 7s? Is it easy?

Sorry if this has been posted about before, I'm at school right now and the internet here is extremely slow and it would take a half hour just to search for the threads.

SEVEN STRINGS RULE.

Well if your in the Nashville area I can have those installed for you. However, depending on your confidence and skill. It's not really that hard to wire it up off a diagram.

I'm sure I can wire it up correctly but it's the routing that I'm afraid of. Do you need alot of experience with this sort of thing to do this correctly?

Dude, spend like $30 on a Dremel, and get this base from Stewart MacDonald. All you have to do is do a basic rout with a power drill, basically just keep plunging over and over in the basic area that you are routing, then use the Dremel to do the precision work. Very easy. $70 on tools, but it's worth it. Wiring things yourself are incredibly easy, just gotta simply do it, it's easier than you might think. Just be patient for both processes, routing and soldering.

Unless you have wood working experience, i'd say take it to a tech.
