Quick noobish question
I was watching Architects studio diary on Youtube and I noticed that the guitarist had tied a bandana or something round the neck of his guitar-
![]() I also saw the same thing on the DragonForce 'Making of Ultra Beatdown', some of Hermans guitars had socks tied round them. I just wondered what the purpose was? Is it to deaden open notes or something? Told you it was a noobish question, but I'd just like to know. Cheers |

Aye, less ringing of strings beyond the headstock. Similarily a lot do it with tunomatics behind the bridge, as that rings quite badly too.

yea, alot of guys will put a hair scrunchy on their and when they do a heavy taping part they pull it down to help deaden open strings and noise

One of the dudes from dragonforce tie a sock around the top of the neck when soloing while recording to prevent accidental "ghost" notes.
