I don't know either, but I'm dying to try out the Tremol-no. What the hell is taking so long to get these out?! I work in a machine shop, and have a pretty good idea what's involved with making those parts. I bet some hang-up on the business end. I'm almost ready to get some brass & aluminum stock, get on the damn lathe and mill, and copy one for myself!
![]() But I digress...sorry. I tried the tremsetter, and it wasn't stiff, but I didn't like that subtle, center 'notch' feel it had. You'd do a wild pull up and down and feel that little kink in the travel along the way. Just bugged me. Out it came.

![]() What's taking so long? Hmmm.... 1. I've been VERY public about almost every aspect of the Tremol-No. From the begining, I've posted on forums and emailed people with explicit details about the process. Let me know who else has done that. 2. Licensing. I blew 8 months with a company before going with AllParts. That previous company will remain nameless, but you can thank them for not having it 8 months sooner. BTW- the licensing process takes quite a while, for any product. 3. If you work in a machine shop, then this tolerance number should tent your pants: 0.00127mm. That's millimeters; not inches. 4. Finding a factory that could produce such tolerances, with specified materials, wasn't exactly easy. And to make them affordable, another non-simple challenge. Fortunately, I found both in one place. 5. Product packaging, advertising, shipping, etc. Nothing really major. If anything, the business end of things have been the smoothest part of the entire process. ...and now back to the TremSetter conversation Like the others have said, in this thread and elsewhere on the forum, it was the detent (notch, kink, bump, zero point, etc) that drove me crazy. Some folks can put up with it. I couldn't, so out it came.
"Thank YOU, Jim Day!"

I read in Guitar World that Vai has a tremsetter in his main guitar, so maybe there's some trick to setting it up...
Good luck Kevan! Can't wait 'til they're finally available! ![]()

Hey Kevan,
thanks for clearing that up. Damn straight I sure did miss the spec sheet.....I was only kidding. I just mentioned brass because it's cheap, quick and soft to work. I actually don't remember what you're using, but Im sure it will be top notch material, ie titanium, etc. Now that you've explained it that way, it totally makes sense now. And yeah...that's rediculous tolerances I'm not used to going that tight. If you're getting these made to these specs, I'm very impressed! All in all, we're all eagerly champing at the bit for one, and i think you'll have very successful product. Quote:
