RG1527: Peavey 5150 II or Engl Blackmore?

Hello guys,
I would need some advices about which amp to get for my RG1527.
I have the choice between a Peavey 5150 II or an Engl Blackmore.
I play mostly progressive metal, and I need a good hi gain sound, that can be clear and precise when I pick the strings.
I have still stock pickups on the guitar.
I tried a mesa boogie dual rectifier, and I have to say it was quite messy, buzzy and horrible sounding (worse than my Line 6 Spider III).
Moreover, I would like to know what pickups should I get if I change them to sound better with a head amp (I want to get some Dimarzio 7).
Thanks!

that would belong in the amp section then

1. if you're not used to dialing in a mesa, you're probably not going to like it. that said, if you're not up to putting in the time to dial in a good one, just steer clear.

2. do you care about your cleans?

3. amp section!

3 cheers for free gear!

both are great choices and they will each have that High Gain sound ur after but u will need to take the time to dial in a tone that u like.

persoanly im an ENGL person
but the peavey is a very good choice still

"When your on stage and you phail one note,
are you'll go back and play it again? NO!
Coz time for that note is in past, and you need to keep playing song,
and there is nothing you can do with that note.
But you can fix the song just to play it right to the end,
coz if you'll stop the song it would be bigger fail
then one or few note fail." - Yevets

NixerX will become famous soon enough
The blackmore is a fab amp but the Fiddy-Wun-Fiddy is an industry standard.

Sorry about the section for the topic, but I thought it's more about my guitar than about the amp (I would have more chance to find a RG1527 owner in here, and I want to know how it sounds RG1527 + the amp, not the amp by itself, 'cause it's a 7 strings)..
I'm not too much into working on my sound for 5 years, I'm a musician, not an engineer you know..So that's why I don't like the mesa dual rectifier.
About the clean, it's not really my point anyway, I can use effects or why not an acoustic guitar for recordings. In my opinion, it's more difficult to find a good distortion sound..

If you are planning on changing the pickups, like you said, you need to do this BEFORE you start shopping for amps. I have a 1527 with a Dimarzio Evo and Blaze in it, and it changed the sound from stock quite a bit. I think the new pickups would make that "messy" dual rectifier sound a lot better. But, that said, they would also make the 5150 and the ENGL sound different too.

If you don't want to take the time to dial in your tone you're probably not going to be happy no matter what you buy

Yea I know that it would change the sound anyway..
But I would like to be able to have already a good sound with stock pickups (I heard some sample with amazing sound, just using the stock pickups) and thinking about changing pickups someday if I feel like it.
And about working on my sound, there is a big difference between using amps such as Mesa boogie (someone who has 10 years of experience with Mesa told me that he has never really been satisfied with his sound..) or Peavey and Engl that can get a good sound quite fast..
I know that those kind of amp are easier to use, and I can have the opportunity to get one of them.
So this topic is not about how much time I can spend to work on my sound, but if the 5150II and the Blackmore can make it quite well for what I need.
Thanks
(sorry but it doesn't help me to say that I cannot be satisfied if I don't work on my sound, whatever is the amp..take my question in the good way please)

This is probably the best thing to take into account.
