rofl it feels really awkward in the "other" forum. idk, it feels like an extremely guilty pleasure or sin to post in that forum, this being a website for added string guitars.

as for emgs in colors other than black, that's the first time i've noticed it. however, i haven't seen a single band using emgs other than black ones. you'd be the first!

that said it took me three looks to figure out the differences between the new #1-4 i still say #4

Good deal! White pickup covers are cool. I still vote for four though.

I'm so glad they offer white or ivory. Although, I'm holding my breath until they do an eggshell or a mountain snow cover. All sarcasm aside, I hope the ivory is more cream-looking than actual ivory, because that would be pretty cool.

Precisely.

bostjan, the ivory is basically cream colored. I saw a picture from Testament's old guitarist, I chat with him on AIM, he's an EMG freak, and has a deal with them. He's got a lot more guitars than I do, and they ALL have EMG's in them, lol. He's got the white ones, ivory ones, and of course, the black ones. I'm not too sure why they call them ivory instead of just cream...could be anyone's guess.

I really like the white covers with black bezels. Actually I like all of them, well, not the all white though...I hate having all these choices, lol.

There's an example of the ivory covers. They look more white than they probably actually do because of the pickguard. For some strange reason, EMG doesn't show pictures of the humbuckers (81, 85, 60, etc.) with the different covers. Also a search on Google Images turned up nothing. Odd.

Hmm i think cream should look less white against white than it normally would. Those look awfully white to me.

You like white with black bezels? go for it!

I like the black with white bezels myself, but either way, it'd look good.

I meant as in, the white pickguard adds a lot of brightness around the pickups. I'm sure if they were in a black guitar/pickguard they would very creamy. If you look at a lot of white stuff, then look back at those, they are very cream colored, certainly not white anyway. I usually envision cream to be a little more drastic than EMG's "ivory", but whateva.

Black Jackson SL-1 with white 85 in bridge, and white SA's in mid/neck position:

Strat with white pickguard, ivory SA set:

hey it's a cool marketing ploy. "No one is selling ivory pick ups so we should sell ivory pickups and steal the entire ivory pick up market". the name is just a gimmick lol. if it looks cream(or ivory if you prefer) that's what it usually is

What about one of each colour? I made two examples by splicing piece from your two pics into each other lol. Boredom wins. I like the one with black bridge pickup.

Go with this one. Don't worry about routing. I've got a Roswell Rhodes with an EMG 81 in it, and they have a tiny control cavity. They battery just about goes in that, so it'll fit a regular Rhodes no problem.
