To contribute, I absolutely loved the one I had on my S2170. The only thing I ddin't like was the trem arm holder. Very fragile.

A friend brouht his s7320 over last night and I didn't like the zr at all. I assume this can be adjusted, but the low B went sharp while palm muting. WTF is that?

Mine stayed in tune like a champ, though I'm not one for abusing the whammy bar.

on my s7320 ive had to replace the small bolt that is used to adjust individual string intonation, a couple times at that, its an overall pretty sweet system but has fragile parts
myspace.com/lacrimm heavy, progressive and melodic, all instrumental

I really loved mine. I would buy the s strictly because of the zr IMO. Very smooth and stays in tune like said before. I had the s7320 and I'm thinking of selling my rg2228 and getting another s7320.

The trem itself is excellent. The only design flaw I've had with my S470 is that the arm holder is too damn fragile. I need to get it replaced still so if you buy a guitar with one, be easy with it.

![]() the zr is the best trem around hands down. i do a fair bit of whammying, and it stays intune as good as any trem out there. like romper stomper said, i would buy another s7320 just for the trem

+1. The trem was awesome, but I would shear the cheap arm holder every six months or so. They're pretty hard to come by.

so what seperates the zr from a floyd or edge? is it the fact that u dont have to align in with the body?

No, you still need to align or the string height will be wonky when you dive. The ZR feels a LOT smoother, and will always returns to a perfect neutral on release.
That said, the posts suck (the lockwashers vibrate), the studs they're mounted in suck (open bottomed), the bar holder sleeve sucks (shears with fatigue), and the bearing mounts are a bitch to align correctly (they like to work themselves out of the baseplate). If you take the system apart, gasket the threads and sleeves with teflon, you've got a good system, except for the arm holder shearing every six months or so.

Any know if the OFR Arm mod works on this bad boy? I gotta say I'm loving this trem and am finding it to be better for what I do than the lo-pro.

I love mine on my 7320. I have another ibanez with the LO-TRS which is horrible and i have owned a few other Floyd's also this is the best. I used to dread changing strings and changing tunings with them it was such a pain in the ass to set them up again and keeping the trem floating. With the zero point adjustment it makes it easy to change different tunings and keep the trem level. The built in intonation tool is a awesome design. I used to block my old Floyd's when changing strings not with the Zr its just like changing them on a fixed bridge. I do agree the trem arm could be better. I cant understand why anyone wouldn't like this design.
